Night 3 of 7 — Admit Jessica, floor calls Cheryl. You wrapped the Jointer/Planer/Bandsaw sign-off this afternoon before heading in. Havana's got an English lesson tonight at 8, nothing on your plate for it. The one to watch: Sunday's lineup locks land right after night 6 ends, so set your fantasy changes before you crash that morning. AEW All Out is Saturday during your shift — replay it.

Nothing needs a reply — Activity and Mentions are clear back to 9/16, and none of your shop channels (machine shop, metal fab, welding, woodshop, 3D printing, CNC, i-made-that) show anything unread.
Machine Shop Safety is Saturday 9–11:30 AM — 3 days out. It's the sign-off that unlocks machine shop tools; Let's Learn to Turn Pens follows 1–4 PM the same day.
Worth a look: Intro to Fiber Laser, posted today — Sun 10/4 1 PM (repeats Sun 10/18) — matches your laser sign-off.
Welding: still nothing new beyond the Steel MIG Safety class you're already booked for (Sun 10/4, 9a–1p). No aluminum class posted — the absence is now several weeks running.

Main event: Ospreay (c) vs. Moxley, 60-minute time limit, rest of the Death Riders ringside. Also a three-way ladder match for the tag titles (Cope & Christian vs. FTR vs. Young Bucks), Okada vs. Ciampa for the International title, and the trios and women's tag titles on the line. You're on shift that night (night 6 of 7) and it's your stacked hackerspace day — this one's a replay watch.

The maintenance log is still empty — no odometer, no generator hours, no intervals logged yet. Whenever you get a few minutes, jot down where the rig stands and this section will start doing real work for you. Nothing on the calendar this week, and NHC has nothing brewing in the Gulf or eastern Caribbean, so no storm-prep flag tonight.
Matchup: Week 3 vs. Free Jacobs (@Rjay25, 1-1) — projected 95.30 vs 107.53, you're behind (39% win prob). Nothing's kicked off yet; all games Sunday.
Lineup: D. Moore (WR, questionable) is starting and locks Sun 1:00 PM — right after night 6 ends, so set any change before you crash Sunday morning. P. Nacua (also questionable) is on your bench projecting higher than anyone else on the roster (17.4) and locks later, 8:20 PM — worth a swap over Worthy or Godwin if he's confirmed active by then.
Waivers: Your Keon Coleman claim ($14, dropped Najee Harris) cleared this morning — FAAB's around $80 now. Still no backup QB behind Maye (bye week 11). Best fits without colliding with his bye: Geno Smith, Jacoby Brissett, or Kirk Cousins.
Trending: Nothing league-wide touches your roster. Side note: UndisputedGiant's trade offer for Kyren Williams (Diggs + Hubbard) looks to have lapsed — he's still on your roster, no action needed.

A blood test that screens for many cancers at once just got an FDA panel's blessing
What happened: An FDA advisory panel voted that the benefits of Grail's Galleri blood test — which screens for signals of dozens of cancer types from one draw — outweigh the risks for patients who fit the intended use, though the agency hasn't approved it yet.
Why it matters to you: Expect patients and families to start asking about this test by name; it's not a replacement for age-appropriate screening (mammograms, colonoscopies) even if it eventually reaches the market.
Do this: Nothing tonight — it's not approved yet. Just be ready to explain it's a panel recommendation, not a green light.
8 · The Debate
Should hospitals keep settling with the DOJ to end gender-affirming care for minors, rather than fight it in court?
Live this week: NYU Langone settled with the Justice Department Sept. 18 for $8.5 million and agreed to stop providing puberty blockers, hormones and surgical care to patients under 18 — no admission of wrongdoing, and a standing court order still blocks the government from getting patient medical records. At least six hospital systems have now made similar deals, and more are reportedly weighing it.
For settling
The Justice Department, under Attorney General Pam Bondi, has pursued these investigations since 2025 as part of a broader push against what officials call unlawful billing and treatment practices involving pediatric patients. Hospitals that settle avoid protracted subpoena fights and, per NYU Langone's own framing, protect themselves and their patients from extensive government records requests.
Against settling
The NYCLU, ACLU and Lambda Legal — representing affected families in ongoing litigation — argue transgender youth should retain access to this care and that hospitals capitulating without a court ruling sets a troubling precedent, ceding medical decisions to political pressure rather than clinical judgment or due process.
Where it lands: no verdict here — the legal fights continue in multiple states, and more hospital settlements are expected before any court resolves the underlying question. (STAT, Davis Vanguard)
9 · World & Screens
Cuba: A day after Trump called Cuba a "failed state" at the UN and the Cuban delegation walked out, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said today the US is open to talks on a government transition. Havana denies any negotiations are underway. (Al Jazeera)
Screens:Backrooms — A24's found-footage horror hit and now the studio's highest-grossing film ever ($396M+) — starts streaming on HBO Max this Friday, 9/25.
Section H — Background / Already covered
Iran/Gulf: quiet since yesterday's "cowardly strike" condemnation (Day 207) — no new confirmed event today, so it's sitting out tonight.
Puerto Rico: nothing beyond the GFR Media print-shutdown story already covered last night; a story surfacing today was just re-syndication of that same news.
Tropics: NHC is tracking two systems, both far out in the Atlantic (near Cabo Verde and the Azores) — nothing in the Gulf or Caribbean, highest 7-day odds 40%.
Brothers (Apple TV+, McConaughey & Harrelson) premiered today — reviews are mixed-to-tepid, so it's not going in the queue recommendation.
