Knicks can clinch their first title since 1973 — tonight
Update: Game 5 is tonight, Saturday June 13, 8:30 PM ET in San Antonio. New York leads the Finals 3–1 after that 29-point Game 4 comeback, and this is the first of up to three chances to close it out. Win tonight and it's over; lose, and they still get Games 6 and 7 back at the Garden. Wembanyama and the Spurs have to run the table.
Why it matters to you: you're a New York fan and this is genuinely historic — 53 years since the last one. If you're up after the shift, this is the game to catch.
Talking point: even a Game 5 loss isn't a disaster — the math still heavily favors the Knicks with two of the last three at MSG.
Iran deal reportedly at "final text" — but Tehran isn't confirming
Update: A day after Trump canceled further strikes and said a deal was "approved," Pakistan's PM said negotiators have reached a "final, agreed-upon text" and Trump expects a signing over the weekend. A senior U.S. official walked that back slightly — "not quite at the finish line, but very close." Iran is publicly cooler: its foreign minister says the memorandum is still under review and is calling Trump's claims "speculation." Sticking points: Iran wants Lebanon and the Strait of Hormuz carved out, plus a non-interference pledge.
Why it matters to you: this is still the biggest swing factor on fuel prices — the Hormuz scares have been pushing gas and energy costs up (Puerto Rico included). A real signing would ease that; a collapse back to strikes would do the opposite.
Talking point: "final text" and "approved" are not "signed." Watch Al Jazeera/Reuters for an actual signing event this weekend before believing the blockade lifts.
