Update: Three concrete new actions on top of the broader escalation you've been tracking. On Sunday, Axios reported (citing classified intelligence) that Cuba has acquired more than 300 military drones and that internal discussions included possible strikes on Guantánamo Bay, US military vessels, and Key West — 90 miles from Havana. On Monday, State Dept rolled out fresh sanctions on 11 Cuban officials and three security/intel entities (Ministry of Interior, the National Revolutionary Police, and its Directorate of Intelligence) — Rubio framed it as part of a "comprehensive campaign." Díaz-Canel responded that any US military action would cause a "bloodbath" with "incalculable consequences," while denying Cuba has aggressive intentions.
